Universities and colleges have a unique capacity to generate climate change solutions; no other institution in our society has the combination of education, research, economic impact and diverse expertise that can be found in our schools!
Moving quickly and developing climate action plans for our schools is imperitive; developing them collaboratively, with all campus community members will help generate the best ideas, and build the support those ideas need to be successfully implemented!
We invite you to get involved in developing your school's climate action plan - every campus is different, so we work with schools individually to identify the opportunities and best route forward. We can support you with workshops on collaborative planning, resources on developing a multi-stakeholder committee, and information networks for best practices in climate change policy and operations. This is why Education is one of the key pillars of goBEYOND. We believe that as a complex and interconnected problem, all disciplines have a role to play in finding solutions to climate change. Through innovative and engaging curriculum, we have the capacity to shift our schools and communities toward low-carbon practices and a culture of sustainability.
We envision an education system that connects the classrooms to the community to deliver knowledge with practical applications. We envision an education system that provides hubs for local solutions to climate change. We want to connect with you to make that happen.

By the middle of this century, within the adult lifetime of today's students, our global society must become climate-neutral if we are to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. The Challenge is to go beyond climate-neutral today so our society can become climate-neutral tomorrow.
We have a carbon budget: a set amount of greenhouse gasses that can go into the atmosphere without triggering catastrophic climate change. The questions are: Who spends the budget? How quickly do we spend the budget? And, what do we spend the budget on? Our actions today will answer those questions.
The key is to focus on the services that we want and find ways to deliver them without the greenhouse gasses.
The goBEYOND Challenge does two things today. First, we will help you create a personal plan to get what you want without spending greenhouse gasses. Second, the Challenge connects you with other people working to create climate solutions in their community.

We want you to be an asset in your community! goBEYOND delivers training that will allow you to become increasingly credentialized in specific areas such as communications, coordination, facilitation, and research. Where possible, goBEYOND uses a train-the-trainer model, allowing individuals to transfer their skills to their community.
